HD Lighthouse Editors Comment: We knew
it all along. HD is a treatable condition. LAX101 is expected be available
in the first half of 2003 in the US. While waiting you may wish to take
the active ingredient of LAX101 by taking cold water fish
oil-- Jerry Posted to HDLighthouse: 17 June 2002 Dear Jerry, I wanted to update all of you on the status of HD Research. The is drug called LAX-101. LAX-101 in the third (final) stage of research. The early result were very promising and brought Amarin into the process. They are paying for the research for the right to the compound. I just found out that the research will be done in the next month and they think that Lax 101 should be available anywhere from January to June 2003. The company needs to complete the FDA process. I believe that this will be the first treatment for HD. I found the information from a UBS Warburg Presentation. I have also reviewed the early result. The drug has significantly improved HD patients. Take Care, Source: From HDL contributor Ron Hartley 17Jun02
