I found out my oldest sister has HD on 4-12-01.
I was in total shock as I have been the family record keeper. I had entered the medical records of my mom into a database called "Mom". We thought, as did the doctors, she had died of Alzhiemers after 13 years in a nursing home. As I was reading through all the HD symtoms available-Shock was the result. Now my oldest sister Danette and myself, of three siblings, have HD.
I had been having movements for about 1+ year before I knew what HD was. I thought I was just kind of hyperactive and a "spastic". I was always dropping things especially during the last year. Cigarettes, spilling drinks, choking etc. About 1 year ago my sister told me to stop drinking at work. She thought I was drunk when she talked to me on the phone. This was another gift from my mom/within the HD gene I guess. (ha ha) I was not drunk but one of those signs/looking back on it all.
I started EPA after reading your lighthouse web info. I also got my sister to take EPA. Danette is also taking a infant dose of Risperdal.
We have only just started EPA 1 month ago. I have fallen down about 6 times in the last year. My gait is weird. I feel weird walking across the yard etc.
