This link is another source for EPA. They have Twinlabs Dale Alexander "Twin EPA" 18.50 for 60 gelcaps, each gelcap contains 600 mg of EPA. They also have the liquid emulsified EPA "Super MaxEPA" Twinlab Dale Alexander, which is 1000 mg EPA per tablespoon @ 15.00 per 12 oz bottle(23 servings/bottle), for those who have trouble swallowing.
I ordered online and it was at my house in 3 days. No shipping or tax.
Keep waging the battle, thanks, Greg wert.mail@verizon.net
My father has HD and I am a member of ocean ess. I use to work for them and I have a number that any one who would like to may use. it saves any where from a few cents to a few dollars per bottle it depends on what you buy and how often. you save more if you are on what is called a standing order where it is shipped once a month. The Number is 264427189 you would put this in the promo Number box at the bottom of the profile that you fill out. Also it is not sold in Canada. It is only delvered to US mail either to homes apts or even PO Box's any one can rent and use. You may think that by using the above number that I may be makeing money off this but I am not. I know with all the med.s that are needed it becomes hard at times. I just hope that saveing a few cents or more may help some one on a tight budget be able to buy something that may help.

I recently e-mailed the Japanese website which Jerry referred to. The response that I got was they could only sell to laboratories for scientific/research purposes. Their argument was that the EPA that hey had was not for human consumption. They then referred me to a website called Sigma-Aldrich. I got the same response from them. They in turn referred me to www.chemsources.com.
It appears that what we are looking for in terms of EPA purity is only for research purposes. According to the US rep for EPA it would cost $5,088 per month IF we could have access to it. It is a very rare drug, thus costly.
After my efforts it would appear that the closest thing we have is OmegaBrite which contains 375 mg of EPA and 40 mg of DHA. Over the counter fish oils contain 360 mg of EPA and 240 mg of DHA. It seems that OmegaBrite would be the better offer. I have contacted chemsources to see if they have anything that would be of human consumption that would surpass the EPA content of OmegaBrite. Let us have hope. From what I understand from the sources I spoke with; they wished they could give us the pure EPA right now, but FDA regulations forbid it. Hang in there!
"Her doctor recommended starting her on 1 gram of EPA twice a day. As she has a swallowing disorder I was concerned about giving her what was shaping up as a number of fairly large softgels daily. A few days ago I found a 12 oz bottle of emulsified concentrate (from Twinlab) that has 1000mg of EPA per tablespoon. I tasted it: it's got a light mint flavor with no apparent fishy after taste. It arrived yesterday and we're experimenting with how it is best given. (It's fairly thick and I need to find a method that the staff at her board & care can use effectively.) I'm going to try mixing it with various juices.
I found it for $13 a bottle at the following e-tailer in Pasadena, CA. (a 4 bottle order comes to $12 a bottle with free shipping)."
Ethyl EPA is available in Japan: Two pharmaceutical companies sell Ethyl EPA as Evadale (not sure on spelling) against a certain type of arteriosclerosis, not for neurological disorders. I don't know much about clinical trials, but I am sure to update info here ASAP. --Kaori Muto, President JHDN
