Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD)

A single cell is removed from an embryo prior to implatation. "We have found that many disease societies and support groups, including a number of Huntington's disease societies, either ignore PGD as a method of preventing genetic diseases from being passed on, or are outright hostile to the idea, and use their bias against the procedure as a justification for not informing their members about it. We believe that the public is misinformed and mistreated by concealing this important information. It is good to know that there are groups such as yours out there who let their members know about the availability of PGD", J.J. Marik, MD, Institute for Reproductive Medicine and Genetic Testing. www.preimplantationgenetictesting.com
